How it works
How it's made
The months
They're for Catalonia and nearby: when there's local produce at the market, not when it's shipped in or comes out of cold storage. Take them as a guide. A cold year pushes everything back a couple of weeks, and the coast runs ahead of inland.
«At its best» is when there's most of it, it tastes best and costs least. «Arriving» and «last weeks» are the edges of the season.
What it brings
The figures come from the USDA's SR Legacy table (FoodData Central), per 100 g of raw produce. They're averages: a given variety may have more or less.
We only say «source of» or «high in» when it meets what EU law requires to put it on a label: 15% of the daily reference value in 100 g for «source of» and 30% for «high in» (for fibre, 3 g and 6 g). No cures, no superfoods.
The pages
How to choose it, how to keep it, what to do with the extra and what to cook. When there's a family recipe with that product, the page links to Family recipes; when it's a tree on Treesify, it links there too.
